In the UK, the opening of cinemas has been postponed to a later date. As Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced at a press conference, instead of August 8, as previously planned, the halls will be able to receive the first spectators no earlier than August 15, 2020, if the situation with the new type of coronavirus does not worsen.

Moreover, the government has announced that visitors will only be allowed to enter cinemas with protective masks. The same restrictions will apply when visiting museums, galleries and places of worship.

Recall that in most European countries, cinemas were supposed to resume work in mid-July, but due to the unfavorable epidemiological situation, this plan was impossible to implement. Most Hollywood studios have also declined to release their movie projects in mid-summer.

The box office is expected to start recovering in late August or early September, when potential blockbusters such as Argument and others are released. In USA, cinemas were allowed to receive viewers again from August 1.
