Allison Janney (Tonya Against All) received the Oscar 2018 for Best Supporting Actress. In the women's category, her rivals were Laurie Metcalf ("Lady Bird"), Octavia Spencer ("The Shape of Water"), Mary J. Blige ("Mudbound Farm"), Leslie Melville ("Phantom Thread").

This was Allison Janney's first Academy Award, and earlier this year she received a Hollywood Foreign Press Association and British Academy Awards for her performance in the same movie.
