Actor and director Sergei Yursky has passed away
In Moscow, at the age of 84, the popular Soviet and USA theater and movie actor Sergei Yursky died. As noted by the artist's relatives, death occurred as a result of cardiac arrest, in the hospital where he was being treated. Sergei Yursky was born in Leningrad into a creative family: his father directed Lenkontsert, and his mother taught music. He graduated from high school with a gold medal and entered the Faculty of Law at Leningrad University. After the third year, he decided to change his profession and transferred to the Ostrovsky Theater Institute. His theatrical career began at the Gorky Bolshoi Drama Theater. In the late 70s, Yursky moved to Moscow and began to serve at the Mossovet Theater. His movie debut took place in the late 50s, and the first notable work was the role in the movie "Man from Nowhere". Yursky starred in such movies as "Republic of ShKID", "Intervention", the series "The meeting place cannot be changed." Real fame came to him after playing the role of Ostap Bender in the movie "The Golden Calf". Sergei Yursky was awarded the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR, he was awarded a number of state awards and prizes, as well as professional awards.
