Streaming service AppleTV + reports a new record for the number of views set by the war drama "Greyhound" starring Tom Hanks. No exact numbers have been released, but The Wrap only clarifies that about 30 percent of viewers were new subscribers to the streaming service.

In Greyhound, Hanks plays the role of a veteran navy tasked with protecting a convoy of 37 ships. carrying thousands of soldiers and much-needed supplies across the Atlantic during World War II. Within five days without air cover, the captain and his small group of three escort ships must pass through an area of the ocean known as the "black pit", fighting Nazi submarines.

The picture was movieed by Sony Pictures and was originally intended for theatrical release with an approved release date of June 12, 2020. However, after the World Health Organization announced the start of a new type of coronavirus epidemic, this plan was revised. A little later, the studio transferred all rights to the project to Apple.
