Tom Hanks Receives Honorary Golden Globes
The Hollywood Foreign Press Association has announced the first 2019 Golden Globe Award winner. Popular Hollywood actor Tom Hanks will be the winner and will receive the Cecil B. DeMille Honorary Award. "We are proud to present the 2020 Cecil B. DeMille Award to Tom Hanks. For more than three decades now he captivated audiences with his amazingly expressive characters we love and admire. He was equally convincing on the silver screen and equally convincing on the other side of the camera as a writer, producer and director. We are honored to mention Mr. Hanks on the same list as such luminaries like Oprah Winfrey, George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Martin Scorsese and Barbra Streisand and others, " - said in a statement by the President of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Lorenzo Soria. Note that Tom Hanks is one of the most titled actors in modern Hollywood: he already has four Golden Globes, and in total he was nominated for this award nine times.
