Star Wars Episode 8 director Ryan Johnson has cleaned up his official Twitter account. According to the Comic Book, he deleted all comments he made before January 25, 2018.

In total, more than 22,000 posts were destroyed, just over 1,100 were left. Johnson did not explain this "genocide" , however, it is quite obvious that this action is connected with the recent scandal, which involved the director of "Guardians of the Galaxy" James Gunn, who was fired by Walt Disney studio for too free statements and jokes a decade ago.

Note that Johnson has always been an active user of Twitter and repeatedly spoke out sharply on various occasions and entered into disputes with his subscribers. It is likely that the director who will oversee the creation of the next Star Wars trilogy, decided not to risk it.

The movie Star Wars 8: The Last Jedi was released in December 2017, and despite criticism from fans of the saga, collected at the worldwide box office over $ 1.3 billion. The success of the movie convinced Lucasmovie studio management to appoint Johnson as producer of the three-part sequel.
