HBO will shoot a series about the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant
TV channel HBO together with Sky will shoot a mini-series with the eloquent title "Chernobyl", which will be dedicated to the accident at the Soviet nuclear power plant. This is reported by the Coming Soon publication. The plot of the project has not yet been specified, it is only known that the focus will be on people who took part in the elimination of the consequences of the accident and the investigation in order to clarify its circumstances. Key roles will be played by popular Hollywood actors, for example, Stellan Skarsgard, who got the role of Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR Boris Shcherbina, who was appointed head of the government commission for the elimination of the consequences of the disaster. Emily Watson, who will play a physicist, will also be involved in the project. Ulyana Khomyuk, as well as Jared Harris, who got the role of chemist Valery Legasov. The latter arrived at the destroyed station one of the first and received a significant dose of radiation. It was he who proposed the composition of the mixture that was used to fill the burning reactor, which prevented the further spread of radioactive materials. Johan Renck, who previously worked on the creation of some episodes of the series "Pedigree", was appointed as the director. The release date of the project has not yet been announced.
