The streaming service Netflix pushed work towards a series based on works by Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski, titled The Witcher. According to Variety, the adaptation of the works will be done by Lauren Schmidt, screenwriter and producer of the Marvel series "Daredevil". The plot of the project is still unknown. Recall that the first short stories about the adventures of Geralt of Rivia were published in the Fantastyka magazine in the mid-80s. The first book entitled "The Last Wish" was published in 1993. The main character is a monster hunter who has acquired exceptional fighting qualities through mutations: great strength, instant reaction, and accelerated metabolism. Geralt's main work is the destruction of monsters dangerous to people. Based on the works by the Polish studio CD Projekt Red, the popular series of video games "The Witcher" was created. The first one was released in 2007. It is noteworthy that the plot of the game was not approved by Andrzej Sapkowski himself, and as the author himself later claimed, he did not receive any profit. In 2011, a sequel titled "The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings" was released, and in 2015 the third part - "The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt".
