Activision has frozen the movie adaptation of the "Call of Duty" shooter series. Director Stefano Stallima told Badtaste correspondents. According to him, everything stalled at the stage of writing the script.

"We prepared the script together with Scott Silver, who worked on Joker, but, honestly, the idea of expanding this universe in the cinematic sense of the word is more is not a priority of Activision. So now everything is frozen, which in general often happens in America. Everything is frozen at the level of "let's see ...", - he said.

Recall that Stallima was appointed the director of the movie based on the game in 2018. He was expected to begin movieing in the second half of 2019.

Also, the fate of another project related to this universe is still unknown. It was supposed to be handled by Joe Robert Cole, who previously worked on the adaptation of the Marvel comic "Black Panther".

At the end of 2019, Activision reported on the record-breaking launch of the game "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" in many ways. As stated on the official website, over the first weekend, copies of the game were sold but more than 600 million dollars.
