The Simpsons Found a New Home at Walt Disney
The popular animated series "The Simpsons" has found a new "home". According to The Wrap, during Disney's 2019 Investor Day, it was announced that it will be streaming the new Disney + streaming service from fall 2019. which read: "Welcome, Synergy". Darth Vader and Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger stood in the background. Nearby, in a dumpster, was a portrait of former Fox owner Rupert Murdoch.
Interestingly, Walt Disney's purchase of 20th Century Fox was predicted in The Simpsons twenty years before it actually happened .. In an episode of the tenth season, titled "When You Dish Upon a Star", released in November 1998, Homer Simpson dated popular Hollywood actors Kim Basinger and Alec Baldwin. In one scene, the office of 20th Century Fox appeared, with a sign saying that it was a division of Walt Disney. The Simpsons is one of the longest running shows in American television history.
