Warner Bros. Film Studio officially launches the sequel to the fantasy movie Edge of Tomorrow, based on the Japanese manga All You Need Is Kill by Hiroshi Sakurazaka. According to Deadline, the sequel will be scripted by Matthew Robinson, screenwriter for Monster Trucks.

It is expected that the core group of creators of the original movie adaptation Doug Lyman, Tom Cruise and Emily Blunt will take part in the work on the sequel. The shooting and possible rental schedules are not specified at the moment.

Recall that the plot of the first episode was built around a specialist of the PR-service of the Ministry of Defense, who finds himself in a time loop during the battle with the aliens attacking the Earth. He meets a warrior woman who also had to go through something similar in the past. Together they had to figure out how to defeat the conquerors.

The movie received high marks from movie critics, but its fees left much to be desired. Edge of Tomorrow earned only $ 370 million worldwide, with a budget of over $ 170 million. The tape won the 2015 KinoNews Award for Best Film.
