Transformers Maker Sues DC and Warner Bros

The world's largest toy maker, Hasbro, which owns the Transformers brand, is suing Warner Bros. and DC Comics, having convicted the latter of illegal use of the Bumblebee brand. As the Variety edition clarifies, this is a DC superheroine with such a nickname.

Note that the DC Super Hero Girls franchise was represented by DC Comics and Warner Bros. in partnership with another toy manufacturer, Mattel in 2015. It was about a series that told the story of popular DC heroines and antagonists, including Harley Quinn, Batgirl and Bumblebee, during their high school years. In the same year, Hasbro patented the Bumblebee brand, including an upcoming solo movie dedicated to the popular Autobot.

The suit states that the continued exploitation of this nickname by Warner Bros. and DC Comics could "mislead Transformers fans." The official representatives of the respondents have so far refrained from any comments on this topic.

Recall that the feature movie "Bumblebee" will be presented to viewers in December 2018. Key roles will be played by Haley Steinfeld, Pamela Adlon, John Cena, Kenneth Choi, Rachel Crowe, Jorge Lendeborg Jr., Stephen Schneider, Abby Quinn, Ricardo Hoyos and other actors.
