HBO Announces True Detective Season 3 Renewal
HBO has officially announced the start of work on the third season of True Detective Anthology. The Hollywood Reporter reports this with reference to the channel. The creator of the series, Nick Pizzolatto, is the only writer on the show, with the exception of David Milch, co-author of the fourth episode. Pizzolatto will act as showrunner and director alongside Jeremy Saulnier ("Disaster"). Pizzolatto, Saulnier, Scott Stephens, the stars of the first season Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey, as well as the director of the first season, Carey Fukunaga will share the responsibilities of executive producers. The third season of the series will tell the story of a terrible crime that happened in the very the heart of Ozrak, and a mystery that has grown even darker over several decades and three time periods. As previously reported, Oscar winner Mahershala Ali will play the lead role – Northwest Arkansas police detective Wayne Hayes.
