Paramount Pictures has announced the release date for the first Transformers spin-off, which will feature the Autobot Bumblebee. According to the Comic Book, the movie with the tentative title "Bumblebee" will be presented to viewers on December 21, 2018.
The cast of the movie has also been clarified. Key characters will be played by Hayley Steinfeld, John Cena, Pamela Adlon, Stephen Schneider and others. The action will take place in the late 80s of the last century. The Autobot Bumblebee on the run takes refuge in a dump in California. There he is discovered by an 18-year-old local woman in search of purpose and meaning in life, who soon realizes that the badly damaged Volkswagen Beetle is more than just a vehicle. Filming has already started.
It is noteworthy that the movie is announced for the same date as the adaptation of DC comics "Aquaman". Since both projects are designed for approximately the same audience, this decision of the Paramount management seems a little strange. One of the movies will likely change their rental schedule in the foreseeable future to avoid direct competition and thus a loss in box office receipts.
