Universal is launching a movie based on an unreleased comic strip called Stealth, written by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman. As Deadline has reported, Lee Daniels, the creator of The Butler, has been appointed to direct the movie.

The script will be prepared by Mark Fergus, who previously worked on another adaptation of the comic, Iron Man. The first edition of the comic will be released by Skybound / Image on March 11, 2020.

The official synopsis reads: "Stealth has fought a war on crime in Detroit for decades, but now he has gone too far in his quest for justice. Only reporter Tony Barber knows that an elderly man struggling with illness is behind Stealth's reckless behavior. Alzheimer's is his father. A father who does not want to accept the fact that he is no longer the hero that this city needs. "

The timing of the project has not yet been confirmed. Most likely, movieing will start in the first half of 2020. As a reminder, Lee Daniels was nominated for an Academy Award for The Treasure, but lost to his rivals in the directing category.
