Twin Mirror - a new game announced from the creators of Life is Strange and Vampyr
Dontnod has announced its new game Twin Mirror, which is being developed in partnership with Bandai Namco Games, just before E3. From the first trailer for Twin Mirror, it becomes apparent that Dontnod are returning to the cinematic adventure genre like Life is Strange. The atmosphere of a detective story, a non-linear story and an exploration of an inconspicuous town that reliably hides its terrible secrets - sounds interesting to say the least. According to the plot of the game, the main character named Sam recently broke up with his beloved, and now fate has prepared another unpleasant surprise for him - his best friend has died. Sam immediately quits his job and comes to the town of his childhood - Basswood, where his friend's funeral will take place. After his arrival, Sam tries to establish contact with former friends, but the walls of his hometown and the piled up problems plunge him into depression more and more. Everything suddenly changes the next morning when Sam wakes up in the hotel, and his shirt is covered in blood, and apparently someone else's blood. Of course, the main character in Twin Mirror does not remember anything and, after a series of strange incidents, must find answers to all his questions. Still, I am glad that Dontnod did not step on a rake again, as in the case of Vampyr, but focused on a cinematic adventure without pathos and ambition.  Even the description of the game itself suggests a "tube" adventure, in the style of Fahrenheit or LiS: The death of a best friend. Broken heart. A hometown that has become completely alien. With no memory of what happened last night and a scary T-shirt spattered with blood, it's time for Sam to find the truth. The developers assure that the most important thing for them in Twin Mirror is to create an atmospheric and emotional adventure in which you will worry about the fate of Sam. Of course, the nonlinearity that is inherent in almost all Dontnod projects will not go away. The only thing that can be a little embarrassing in Twin Mirror is the outdated graphics, but do the players value the studio's projects for the picture? And besides, the release of Twin Mirror is scheduled for 2019, which means that the developers still have enough time to improve the graphics.
