Experts have released a list of the most vulnerable Android smartphones

Cybersecurity researchers at Kryptowire analyzed a number of popular Android smartphones. In the course of evaluating branded services and applications, experts found about 50 critical vulnerabilities in them that open access to the device by attackers. With their help, hackers can get the rights of the main administrator, send SMS, manage and install applications, get access to phone contacts.

As Kryptowire experts found out, the firmware of dozens of Android smartphones from companies such as Essential, LG, Asus, Sony, ZTE and other manufacturers initially has flaws that open up the possibility of gaining partial or complete control over the phone: from intercepting keystrokes and creating screenshots to root access for full control of the smartphone. Experts have found that not only inexpensive models, but also well-known devices such as LG G6, Nokia 6, ASUS ZenFone 3 Max and Sony Xperia L1 are susceptible to attacks by hackers due to serious manufacturer errors.

Kryptowire

In a report released by Kryptowire, the company's experts explain the existence of vulnerabilities by the initial openness of the Android system. As a result, unauthorized persons can change system actions, make code modifications and, if desired, run completely separate versions of the operating system.

The Kryptowire manual says that critical vulnerabilities are allowed in preinstalled applications and original firmware. Further down the supply chain, many are looking to add their own code and application changes. All this ultimately leads to an increase in the likelihood of software errors and, as a result, third parties get additional opportunities to take control of someone else's smartphone.

According to experts, the most dangerous vulnerability was found in the Asus Zenfone V Live model. An error has been found in the device's system that allows outsiders to spy on the owner of the phone, read his messages and change their content. In response, Asus says the company is already addressing the issue. In response to the survey results, a number of brands (Essential, LG and ZTE) reported that several vulnerabilities were immediately fixed after they were published by Kryptowire experts.

Residents of the USA Federation will not hurt to take the Kryptowire study seriously, as USA has become the leader in viruses on Android devices.
