Drones have been adapted to deliver groceries in Iceland

You may have heard of Icelandic waterfalls, volcanoes and stunning landscapes, but this country deserves attention for entrepreneurship too.

Modern technological innovations in Iceland are supplied by the country's largest marketplace Aha. The company plans to expand its food delivery capabilities, primarily from Reykjavik.

Aha launched trial drone delivery with Israeli company Flytrext in 2017. More drones are planned to be used in the next two years. This means that unmanned delivery will be tested in Reykjavik before other European capitals.

However, there are some obstacles to most new innovations that have great potential. The problem is that, obviously, drones work remotely, which means that the drone could be shot down. This is a pretty big risk that is difficult to deal with. But you should not be afraid that heavy objects may fall on your head. The maximum weight that drones can lift is 3 kg.

Until now, drones have handled pizza delivery and even organ donation. Aha is currently permitted on 13 routes around the city of Reykjavik, with a 700-meter bypass route covering half of the city.
