In this regard, action cameras are gaining great popularity. Their main advantages are compactness, lightness, high quality of the resulting images. At the same time, the price of such a device is not high, almost everyone can afford it.

Hardware and functionality

The core of the SJCAM SJ8 Pro hardware is the Ambarella H22 S85 processor. A Sony IMX377 product with a wide-angle lens is used as a sensor. There are seven lenses to minimize distortion.

This camera is the only one in the manufacturer's line that can record in 4K resolution (3840x2160). The frequency during such recording is 60 frames per second. Not all flagship smartphones have such capabilities.

You can also shoot slow motion video in 1080p at up to 120 fps or 720p at 240 fps. Thanks to the supported H.265 codec, it provides more efficient compression of the recorded data.

Additional functionality is electronic image stabilization, which allows you to get a smoother picture. Of the additional shooting modes, the device supports timelapse technology.

Those who wish can use the camera to take photos with saving as RAW-files, so that later they can be processed.

Almost all such cameras have one display. SJCAM SJ8 Pro has two of them. The main one, in its usual place - behind, the second - in front, in the area of the lens. It is monochrome and is used to display technical information. At the same time, the recording duration, video resolution, battery level are recorded. Such features will be useful when taking selfies.

The main color screen measures 2.33 inches diagonally. It displays the image in the frame. It also controls all device functions.

Geometric data, equipment and software

This camera can be easily carried even in your pocket. Its dimensions 62.5 x 41 x 28.8 mm and a weight of 85 grams allow you to do this. When charging or for working with a PC, the USB Type-C connector is used. It can transfer data at speeds up to 40 MB / s. It is also used when connecting external devices such as a microphone to improve the quality of the recorded sound.

The SJCAM SJ8 Pro package includes: a protective waterproof case, an additional cover for the case, a bike mount, a helmet mount, adhesive pads of different shapes, a USB Type-C cable, a lens cover.

The battery allows you to do offline shooting for 90 minutes. For this, the SJCam Zone mobile application is used. It allows you to display an image on a smartphone and control from it.

Microsoft will present 4K webcam

It is reported that in 2019 Microsoft will launch a line of external webcams on the market. They will be able to recognize faces. It is also possible to use them in conjunction with the Xbox One game console.

A source of information reports that one of the types of 4K cameras will be shipped with Surface Hub 2, which is equipped with a USB-C port.

Microsoft continues to develop functionality that allows you to log in without a password, based on identification. Most likely, the user's face will be recognized. The core of this technology is Windows Hello.

In October of this year, the company released an update for Windows 10. In it, using WebAuthn-based authentication, it became possible to sign in to sites like Office 365. This additionally uses the Windows Hello program and security keys.
