Streaming service Disney + and Lucasmovie have postponed indefinitely the production of a live-action series dedicated to the famous Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the creators of the show intend to revise its concept.

Recall that in the summer of 2019, Lucasmovie President Kathleen Kennedy claimed that "all the scripts have already been written" and the studio is ready to start movieing. Now anonymous sources insist that the plot will be changed, and the total number of episodes will be reduced from six to four. British actor Ewan McGregor, who played Obi-Wan in the second Star Wars trilogy, is still a member of this project.

Initially, the Lucasmovie studio intended to make a full-length movie about Obi-Wan's adventures, but after the uncertain distribution of the movie about Han Solo, plans were adjusted. Kenobi is a key character in Star Wars mythology. He was introduced to viewers in the original 1977 movie as a desert-dwelling war-weary hermit who later turns out to be the wise mentor of young Luke Skywalker and reveals to him the secrets of the Jedi and his own past.
