Scary Metro Exodus Trailer and Ray Tracing Case Study Revealed

Studio 4A Games has decided to once again remind about their anticipated post-apocalyptic shooter Metro Exodus. Players familiar with the series are well aware that one of the main advantages of the past parts of Metro was the enveloping atmosphere of post-Soviet devastation, which could not only cause nostalgic feelings among gamers from the CIS, but also really scare. It was this moment that they tried to convey in the new trailer for Metro Exodus.

The children's camp "Solnechny", in which the main character falls, has ceased to resemble the best place to rest during the summer holidays. Surrounded by ferocious wolves and monsters, as if descended from the pages of Lovecraft, the camp has become a secluded abode for wild criminals. Old children's toys, walls covered with pretty scribbles and crucified human bodies are the only attractions that await the player in Solnechny.

In addition to the spectacular Metro Exodus trailer, the developers have shared another video, which demonstrates an example of ray tracing technology, thanks to which each individual ray of the sun is generated in real time. But you will have to pay for beauty, at least by purchasing an Nvidia graphics card from the RTX series.

The release of Metro Exodus at the beginning of the year was postponed and is now scheduled for February 22, 2019. Hopefully this is the final release date. You can find out more about the game and watch 17 minutes of gameplay in our separate material.
