Top 50 best TV series of 2018 according to KinoPoisk. Part 1

Since there is such a fuss about summing up the results of the year and compiling lists of the best films of 2018, it would be useless to ignore the series. And the prime minister among them this year was no less than the previous year. And there will be more worthy people than in the past.

Therefore, we decided to compile a list of the best TV series of 2018 for our readers, arranging them, for convenience, according to the KinoPoisk rating. But it is worth noting that our top does not include cartoon, documentary and anime films, for which we will try to make separate tops next year.

Well, let's start, perhaps! After all, winter holidays are just around the corner, and therefore it will be appropriate to pick up a decent series for yourself in time to relax for the New Year weekend!

1. Early bird. KP rating 8.02

TV Channel: Star TV (Turkey).

Genres: Comedy, Romance, Drama.

In chap. Starring: Jan Yaman, Demet Ozdemir, Oznur Sercheler, Berat Yenilmez and others.

"Early Bird" is the name of the main character of the series - Sanem, who opens her father's shop every morning at dawn. After all, the father is sick, and who else is to do this? But time passes, and the store cannot bring as much money as the family needs at the moment. And Sanem is forced to look for a higher-paying job on the side.

And she finds it. This is a dusty job, as she herself puts it, “bring it, bring it,” at a local publishing house, where, by the way, her sister Lale also works. It was from here that everything spun, spun ...

The series is naive, but light and cheerful. Just for housewives who are not too lazy to go to KinoPoisk in between cooking and vote for their favorite soap operas.

They are the only ones who understand that if they vote for their favorite franchises more often, then they may not be covered up, like the same "Firefly" or "Vizitors", for which advanced fans of science fiction not only did they not want to vote, but they were a burden to watch them online. Learn punctuality from housewives, dear, otherwise you will not see the continuation of your favorite fancy franchises as your ears!

2. The ghosts of the house on the hill. KP 8.01 rating

TV channel: Netflix (USA).

Genres: Horror, Drama, Mystic.

In chap. Starring: Micheal Hauschman, Carla Gugino, Elizabeth Reaser, Henry Thomas and others

The once old mansion was bought by a couple specializing in real estate. The couple bought up old buildings and renovated them to sell them in three roads.

But this time the family came across a house inhabited by terrible ghosts. Even after dozens of years, the ghosts of the house on the hill return to the family members to take their mortal souls to them one by one ...

The series is solid, as is everything it takesNetflix. Complete horror in new and improved packaging. The masterpiece is worthy of standing next to "Stranger Things", "Darkness" and others like them.

3. House arrest. KP Rating 8.001

TV channel: TNT (USA).

Genre: Comedy.

In chap. Cast: Pavel Derevyanko, Alexander Robak, Sergey Burunov, Anna Ukolova and others.

An interesting idea is to take the corrupt mayor of the city, take away all his power from him with money and put him in a communal apartment with ordinary people.

This is exactly what the Court did with the local mayor, who was convicted of fraud. House arrest in the apartment in which he once grew up and was brought up as a child, will put his brains in full, that's for sure.

4. Cobra Kai. KP rating 7.87

TV Channel: YouTube Red.

Genres: Action, Martial Arts, Drama, Comedy.

In chap. starring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka, Holo Maridueno, Courtney Hengeler and others.

It is not clear what prompted contemporary cinematographers to awaken to life the story about "The Karate Kid" (1984), which was once noisy all over the world, but it turned out well in time.

The continuation of the film looks very original, and in light of the fact that the main character, once a hooligan bully, and now - a ruined loser, is played by the same Ralph Mancino (who is also the producer of the series), the new story looks just super cool. p>

Believe me, it will be interesting not only for old men, lovers of Modern Talking, but also for young people who adore David Guetta!

5. Pose. KP rating 7.86

TV Channel: FX (USA).

Genre: Drama.

In chap. starring Evan Peters, MaJ Rodriguez, Billy Porter, Dominic Jackson and others

The strongest and superbly filmed drama about the time of the 80s, when transsexuals, homosexuals and lesbians were not, so to speak, “in law”. The series tells about how their life was at that time.

Those who pass by will greatly regret! Of course, "tolerance" has already gotten out of it lately. But, believe me, this creation is far from being tolerant. It's not about that at all. Everything is for real here!

6. Just kidding. KP rating 7.85

TV channel: Showtime (USA).

Genres: cosedia, drama.

In chap. starring: Jim Carrey, Frank Langella, Catherine Keener, Judy Greer and others

A tale about how, in spite of the disgusting "delights of life", to remain in this world a pure soul, a kind heart and a bright mind.

Although, as the hero of Jim Carrey did not resist, towards the end of the season he began to come out worse and worse. Until the tower was completely demolished.

Is it really not all right with the brains of our artists filming "Good night, kids"? We really hope that at least it is not running like that ...

There is here and why to neigh, and what to think about, and what to grieve over. The series is a masterpiece. Without any!

7. What happened to Secretary Kim? KP rating 7.82

TV channel: TVN (South Korea).

Genres: melodrama, drama.

In chap. Starring: Park Seo-joon, Park Min-yeon, Lee Tae-hwan, Hwang Chang-sung and more

Dramas are still in circulation these days, as evidenced by the fact that one of the latest Korean comedy melodramas hit the top ten of the best TV series of 2018.

The plot, as usual, is straightforward and out of hand. But "uchi-ways" and "mi-mi-mi" are at the highest level here. That is why our romantically-minded girls quickly piled on KinoPoisk in order to vote for the fresh soap opera of Korean filmmakers.

A young and handsome guy of Korean appearance (really, who else can live there in Korea?) becomes vice president of a successful company. And, having been in office for several years in a row, it seems that he is not particularly interested in his secretary - a young and pretty girl of Korean appearance (strange right? What a coincidence for a Korean drama!)

And so, when a pretty Korean secretary girl writes a letter of resignation, everything starts. So many snot, tears, sweet mimics and cocks are poured out that any girl who is trapped in herself will simply melt!

8. Yellowstone. KP rating 7.71

TV Channel: Paramount Network (USA).

Genres: Western, Drama.

In chap. starring: Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly et al.

If twice Oscar winner Kevin Costner is listed in the credits, regardless of whether it is a full meter or a series, you can be sure that the tape is simply doomed to success. This is the same with Hatfields and McCoy (2012), and it will be released with Yellowstone as well.

We must pay tribute to the current filmmakers. They were able to shoot a real western "ala-2018". And although everyone drives around in a car, and the main character, the father of the family, even lights up on his lands (or, rather, above them) on a spit, the atmosphere of the primordial "Wild West" here is not just present, but simply suppressing.

Here, as in the case of Hatfields and McCoy, there is a confrontation again. Only this time between the Dutton family, who own a ranch with huge land holdings, the Indian Reservation politicians and are struggling to grab the land from the Duttons for their needs by developers ...

9. Patrick Melrose. KP rating 7.69

TV channel: Showtime (USA).

Genre: Drama.

In chap. starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Sebastian Maltz, Hugo Weaving and others.

In this series, Benedict Cumberbatch appears before us in an unusual role. Here he is a complete "secular" drunk who is unable to get rid of his pernicious craving for a bottle.

It is always interesting to watch the game of the master, in whatever disguise he is at the moment. Doctor Strange and Sherdlock Holmes and, as it turned out, the drunk Patrick Melrose, come out equally well. Therefore, you can even get pleasure from watching the trailer.

10. An ordinary woman. KP rating 7.63

TV Channel: TV-3 (USA).

Genres: Crime, Drama.

In chap. Cast: Anna Mikhalkova, Evgeny Grishkovets, Alexandra Bortich, Aglaya Tarasova and others.

The series filmed by the TV-3 channel rarely boast high ratings. But the audience appreciated this masterpiece to the fullest.

Everything in the family life of 39-year-old Marina is adjusted. I have my own business and my family. The husband is a surgeon, the daughters are smart. But is everything so smooth in their life, if you dig deeper?

And the writers dug. And they scooped it up well ...

11. Resident / Ordinator. KP rating 7.63

TV channel: FOX (USA).

Genre: Drama.

In chap. starring Matt Zukri, Emily VanCamp, Shawnette Rene Wilson, Manish Dyal and others.

Everyone we have not seen in private clinics. And the old, and the young, and drug addicts, and autists. The only thing missing was the pompous dude who considers himself smarter than everyone else. Well, judging by the rating, the idea was a success.

Whoever has not yet gotten sores, illnesses, injuries and other pathologies, as well as doctors, nurses and their strict mentors and bosses - welcome to another private clinic on the verge of fantasy.

Indeed, when there is one polyclinic in the district with a free hospital, equipped with cotton mattresses, ancient equipment and ignoramuses from the district medical school, so at least on TV you can see how people live ...

12. Maniac. KP rating 7.614

TV channel: Netflix (USA).

Genres: Fantasy, Drama, Comedy.

In chap. starring: Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, Justin Teru, Sonoya Mizuno and others

Problems on a mental and emotional level prompts the two heroes of the film to take part in testing a new drug that promises recovery from any mental and mental illness.

I wonder if they would have taken part in this experimental treatment if they knew what the consequences would be? for rent - hardly ...

13. Policeman from Rublyovka. KP 3 rating 7.61

TV channel: TNT (USA).

Genres: Comedy, Detective, Adventure.

In chap. starring: Alexander Petrov, Sergey Burunov, Sofia Kashtanova, Tatiana Babenkova and others.

This is the third policeman from the ruble, who, in the wake of the first two, also made it to the top of the rating. But each time the veneration of the audience invariably falls down. Maybe right this season and worth finishing?

For us, the series is generally naive and idiotic. In a word, none. But can you convince fans of naive USA TNT masterpieces? Be that as it may, people voted, which means the rating is justified. And who doesn't like it, let's move on to the next masterpiece!

14. Sharp objects. KP rating 7.6

TV Channel: HBO (USA).

Genres: thriller, detective, drama, crime.

In chap. starring: Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Matt Craven, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen and others.

And the devil pulled Camilla back to the provincial town in which she grew up and was brought up in her childhood. Here a maniac began to hunt, choosing victims from local young girls. And she thought it was a great idea to write a report about everything that happens in this area. It seemed that such material could help her restore a shaky status in the eyes of the editorial bosses.

But the further everything goes, the more she realizes that there is no time for "career growth". Here I would stay alive ...

15. Tragedy at Waco. KP rating 7.58

TV Channel: Paramount Network (USA).

Genres: history, thriller, drama, crime.

In chap. starring Michael Shannon, Taylor Kitsch, Rory Culkin, Andrea Riseborough, Paul Sparks and others.

This is not the first attempt to make a film based on real events that took place at the Mount Carmel Ranch in 1993. As it turned out, the local sect, nesting in these places, not only plotted evil, but was also armed to the teeth, organizing a real war for the local police department and FBI agents.

The actions in the series are as close as possible to those that took place in the place of an armed confrontation. It will be interesting to watch.

16. Out of the game. KP rating 7.54

TV Channel: Super (USA).

Genres: Sports, Drama, Comedy.

In chap. Cast: Rostislav Bershauer, Nikita Pavlenko, Nikolay Kalinychev, Anna Taratorkina and others.

An attempt by the Super TV channel to create something akin to STS Molodezhka, only on a football theme. The series came out frankly weak, and it is completely unclear what is the reason for such a high rating of the masterpiece on KinoPoisk.

You can watch only those who do not understand anything in life or in football. The actors replay, the plot is hackneyed and idiotic, in general, we were not interested in watching. Try you. Maybe you will be able to follow the naive destinies, as it is written in the synopsis: “former professional football player, lonely, drinking scout of the football school of FC Lokomotiv Phil and fan of FC Lokomotiv Sasha.

As for us, this is completely unconvincing. Some idiotic "kickboxer" with a bias in football, with an admixture of dramatic and melodramatic "navarot".

17. Modified carbon. KP rating 7.54

TV channel: Netflix (USA).

Genres: thriller, sci-fi, action, drama.

In chap. starring Juelle Kinnaman, James Purefoy, Chris Conner, Martha Higareda and others

In this universe of the future, a person's body can be changed - like splashing two fingers. "Man" here, in fact, is what is recorded on a special device built into the upper part of the spinal cord. I inserted such a contraption into any cloned body, and live to your health.

Prison confinement here is a special case. They just take this thing out of you, and store it in a warehouse until your "imprisonment" term has passed. They take out the contraption from the warehouse, insert it into the clone and - done! Your body has rotted in the grave for a long time, and you are as good as new after serving your sentence.

Of course, if you, that is, the contraption on which you are recorded, was shoved into a normal body, and not into stupid consumer goods ...

18. Bodyguard. KP rating 7.51

TV channel: Netflix (USA).

Genres: thriller, drama, crime.

In chap. Starring: Richard Madden, Sophie Rundle, Ash Tandon, Vincent Franklin and others

Any bodyguard should have an impressive track record behind him, speaking of his experience without words. And the bodyguard of an important public figure like the Minister of Internal Affairs - even more so.

David Budd's track record is fine. He deserves his job more than anyone else. But only from the side of skills and professionalism. On the political side, he is a staunch opponent of the policies pursued by Minister Julia Montague, which he is charged with protecting.

And a killing war machine that has its own point of view on everything is very bad. How would it not work in the completely opposite direction ...

19. Trust. KP rating 7.49

TV Channel: FX (USA).

Genres: history, drama, crime, biography.

In chap. starring: Harris Dickinson, Donald Sutherland, Hilary Swank, Luca Marinelli and others

The fact that rich people live easier than bad, this grandmother said in two. If you have a lot of money, there will always be a bunch of charitable beggars around you, bouncers in the law, businessmen trying to persuade you to some dark deals and other bigwigs-competitors, whom your well-being not only prevents them from developing in your place, but also whom it simply infuriates.

The series invites the viewer to follow the life of one of the richest people on Earth and learn about his harsh everyday life. It will be very interesting. Filmed seriously, tastefully, skillfully and with soul. No wonder people tried. It turned out awesome!

20. Fortress Badaber. KP rating 7.49

TV Channel: First (USA).

Genres: Drama, Military.

In chap. Starring: Sergey Marin, Svetlana Ivanova, Mikael Janibekyan, Sergey Kolesnikov and others.

The series is somewhat vaguely reminiscent of the movie "Missing" with Chuck Norris in the title role. Only there it was about American prisoners languishing in camps in Vietnam, and here about USA prisoners languishing in camps in Pakistan.

The action takes place in 1985, at a time when a limited contingent of Soviet servicemen was performing their military duty in Afghanistan. Intelligence officer Yuri Nikitin arrives in Pakistan to get materials that majahideen are being trained on its territory, with whom we later have to fight in Afghanistan.

But he finds there not only the necessary material, but also Soviet prisoners of war. Now Nikitin has a choice: to return home with the obtained compromising evidence, or return home with the rescued comrades and the obtained compromising evidence. The first channel of brooms does not knit, and therefore you should definitely look.

21. Killing Eve. KP rating 7.47

TV channel: BBC America (USA).

Genres: thriller, drama.

In chap. starring: Jodie Comer, Sandra Oh, Sean Delaney, Fiona Shaw, Kim Bodnia and others

In the center of the plot are two ladies. One is a super-duper sophisticated hired killer, who has received a new task and is ready to do anything to complete it, on the other, an employee of the special services, who will zealously try to catch her throughout the series. Additional intrigue is created by the fact that the killer lady comes from Mother USA.

It can be seen that they did not spare money for the tape, and the true pros were engaged in it. And therefore it looks voraciously. We advise everyone.

22. 911 rescue service / 9-1-1. KP rating 7.38

TV channel: FOX (USA).

Genres: Action, Thriller, Drama.

In chap. starring: Angela Bassett, Peter Krause, Kenneth Choi, Oliver Stark, Aisha Hinds and others

The FOX TV channel, having become infected at the NBC channel with its "Firefighters of Chicago", "Police of Chicago", "Doctors of Chicago" and "Justice of Chicago" (however, with the latter did not go a bit) decided to create its own film about the work of the Ministry of Emergencies.

And since Chicago is a place that seems to be occupied, and even New York is considered the site of one of its Law & Order: Special Victims Unit spin-offs (although, rather, on the contrary, the first is a spin-off of the second), the series decided to tell about the work of professional rescuers from Los Angeles.

The series deserves attention and is in no way inferior to the firefighters from Chicago. You can check for yourself.

23. Titans. KP rating 7.37

TV Channel: DC Universe (USA).

Genres: Science Fiction, Fantasy, Adventure, Action, Drama.

In chap. Starring: Brenton Thwaites, Anna Diop, Minka Kelly, Tegan Croft, Ryan Potter and others

The DC Universe is designed to spark interest in the DC Universe, and so far they have succeeded. In the wake of the success of the series, Aquaman may well "swim".

And the tale here is about Robin, once Batman's assistant, who gets involved in a showdown with Raven, a girl with almost Superman's abilities, with her father, the ancient demon Trigon.

And along the way, a lot of those who want to try themselves in superhero adventures join these two.

24. You. KP rating 7.32

TV channel: Netflix (USA).

Genres: thriller, drama, crime.

In chap. Starring: Penn Badgley, Elizabeth Layel, Nicole Kahn, Luca Padovan, Zach Cherry and others

The topic is not new, but filmed with a netflik scale. Therefore, everything that happens on the screen is very convincing and makes you nervous.

A guy meeting a girl is okay. But a guy who raises all the ins and outs on her, watches her and, as if by chance, eliminates everyone and everything on his way to her is too much.

Especially if the girl doesn't even know about it ...

25. Barry. KP rating 7.30

TV Channel: HBO (USA).

Genres: Drama, Comedy, Crime.

In chap. starring Bill Hader, Stephen Ruth, Glenn Fleschler, Sarah Goldberg and others.

This is where you laugh, and then laugh again. Well, how not to laugh at the former marines, who are currently engaged in contract killings, and decided, overnight, when completing the next order, to become an actor.

Absolutely by chance, one might say - at work, he finds himself in acting classes, where the thought comes to his mind: "Why not?" But, as always, the path to the dream will be sent not only by down pillows. In some places, something more serious will stick out ...

This concludes our first part of the list of the best TV series, in order to return to its continuation next week. In the meantime, all the best to you, and, as always, more cool movies and TV shows!
