Walt Disney Launches Sequel to Maleficent
The Walt Disney Film Studio is launching Maleficent II, a direct sequel to the 2014 revisionist tale. According to The Tracking Board, the script for the movie will be prepared by British playwright Jez Butterworth, who previously worked on such movies as Edge of Tomorrow and Black Mass. Angelina Jolie is expected to play the lead role again, although the actress is known for her negative attitude towards sequels.
