Oppo has unveiled a new family of smartphones with an unusual design
Oppo presented a new line of mobile devices called Reno. So far, it is represented by two models - an Oppo smartphone in a junior configuration and a more advanced Reno 10x Zoon in terms of technical parameters, although none of them is positioned by the manufacturer as a flagship. The main feature that distinguishes the Oppo 2019 smartphone from the Reno family is the unusual design of a separate unit where the front camera is "hidden". When such a block is extended, only one part of it rises, so outwardly it looks a bit like a sharp fish fin.  The concept of retractable compartments with a self-contained camera is not new to the mobile market. Such devices are found in other brands, for example, Xiaomi, Vivo and even Oppo itself, the previously presented Find X slider has a similar solution. Unlike all of them, the new Oppo Reno stands out precisely for the original design of the compartment with a photo module. The block with the front camera is located at the top of the smartphone. Both devices of the new Reno family received a 16 MP selfie module, which, in addition to the self-portraits function, is used to face unlock the device. The design can withstand up to 200 thousand extensions, in any case, as the manufacturer claims.  The Oppo Reno smartphone belongs to frameless models thanks to the sliding block with a selfie camera. Its screen occupies 93% of the front panel. Both sides of the case are protected by a proprietary Gorilla Glass coating. The 6.4-inch display has a built-in fingerprint sensor. The AMOLED-matrix screen supports the Full HD + standard. The main camera of a smartphone consists of two modules. The main 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 sensor is complemented by a 5-megapixel auxiliary module, the function of which is to blur the background. The junior Oppo smartphone of the Reno family is presented in 6/128 GB and 8/256 GB versions in terms of RAM and internal memory.  The basis of the younger Oppo Reno is the Snapdragon 710, which is considered a mid-range processor. The software component is Android 9 Pie with the proprietary shell ColorOS 6. The device is powered by a 3675 mAh battery, which is complemented by a fast 20 W VOOC 3.0 charging, which restores the device in an hour and a half. The smartphone is equipped with two SIM card slots, an LTE modem, NFC technology for contactless payment, and a headphone port. The lack of microSD support is compensated by the Hyper Boost option, which overclocks the processor frequency in heavy programs and games. The older device Reno 10x Zoom has improved parameters in comparison with the "younger brother". The 6.6-inch smartphone features more advanced features across the board. It is based on the latest premium Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, which all flagship devices of this year receive. The battery capacity is 4065 mAh. Unlike the regular Reno, the older model is equipped with a triple camera. The 48MP main sensor supports an 8MP 120-degree FOV and another 13MP 10x zoom lens.
