Insider # 7.01: Google Gadgets; two Plus from Nokia and Samsung; HMD Global Smartphone Announcement (Topic)

The Duty Insider Newsletter talks about new data regarding Google devices, as well as two leaks regarding the Nokia 1 Plus and Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus. There will be some more information on promising developments of HMD Global.

Google has spotted two new products

One of the most attentive insiders, Till Kottmann, found information on the global network that mentions two Google devices previously unknown to the general public. There are even their codenames - Medaka and Salmon ("orizia" and "salmon").

This data was found in documents related to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). It has long been known that Google has a habit of giving its new products “fishy” names. Therefore, most of the persons interested in this information have concluded that this company has developed two new devices.

Previously, there was information about other products, with the codenames Bonito and Sargo. They do not coincide with the above, so the conclusion about the novelty of the developments easily suggests itself.

One of these gadgets is almost certainly the Pixel Watch, a smartwatch. This is evidenced by the fact that the reports mention the developers who are on the list of the team taking part in the Wear OS project. Nothing is known about the second product yet.

At the beginning of May this year, a Google I / O conference will be held, where they will most likely tell about these new products.

Photo and data of Nokia 1 Plus available

Insider media edition TigerMobile posted on its resources an image and the first technical data of the Nokia 1 Plus device. This is a budget class smartphone. It is most likely intended to replace the Nokia 1 Plus device released last year.

In the image, the quality of which is poor, you can see the device, which has wide frames and rounded corners. The front-facing camera, speaker and brand name are visible at the top of the screen.

TigerMobile claims that this smartphone will have a display with a resolution of 480x960 pixels. The basis of the hardware filling of the device will be the Mediatek MT6739WW chipset with four ARM Cortex-A53 cores (1.5 GHz) and a PowerVR GE8100 GPU (570 MHz).

He is also predicted to have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 1 GB of RAM. Everything runs on Android 9.0 Pie and dual SIM. There is also a micro-USB connector.

The price of new items and the release date are not known. Most likely, it will be presented in February at the MWC 2019 exhibition.

Galaxy S10 Plus update

Resource Slashleaks posted on its page an image of the front of the Galaxy S10 Plus. Upon close examination, it becomes clear that the product is turned on at the time of its photograph.

Experts note that almost all previous data on this gadget are confirmed. Its bezels have a minimal thickness, the screen is rounded at the edges, and the front camera is presented in the form of an oval double module. The battery and mobile network status indicators are shifted to the left of the selfie camera. Previously, all this was presented as one of the assumptions, but now everything has been confirmed.

You can also consider the edges of the smartphone. On the right is a regulator, most likely responsible for working with the Bixby voice assistant. On the opposite side you can see the volume control key and the power button.

Everything else is standard and does not cause much interest yet. The Samsung Galaxy S10 Plus is expected to be announced on February 20 . In addition to this device, other devices of the company's flagship line will be shown.

HMD Global will show new developments in Spain

Over the past few years, Nokia has never been able to reach the capacities that were inherent in it during the heyday and demand for its products. It changed owners several times and is now an enterprise under the control of Finnish fellow countrymen from HMD Global.

Several posters of this company have recently appeared on the Internet. They are dedicated to the February MWC 2019, which will be held in Barcelona, Spain. One of the images piqued the interest of users. It shows in the form of a diagram a smartphone with a cutout for the front camera. Precisely the neckline and precisely the round one.

What is this model has not yet been established. It is speculated that the Nokia 6.2 showed, about which everything was known at the level of rumors.

The second poster gives a closer look at the Nokia 9 PureView camera. There is also the date February 24, 2019. Most likely, during this conference, new devices of the company will be shown.
