Lenovo has unveiled its rival Honor Magic 2, the Z5 Pro frameless slider smartphone.

The last few days have been rich in new items. The not-so-famous firm Royol has announced the FlexPai, a flexible smartphone tablet. They also showed the new Nubia X. In addition, Huawei talked about the frameless Honor Magic 2, which has a triple selfie camera.

Differences from competitors

Lenovo Z5 Pro has a 6.9-inch AMOLED display with no bezels, 2340 ? 1080 pixels and HDR 10 support. It has a slide-out front panel and a fingerprint scanner.

It would be appropriate to recall the recently presented Xiaomi Mi Mix 3, which also has a similar body and a similar display. However, this product does not have a built-in fingerprint scanner.

Knowing what devices from Xiaomi, Honor and Lenovo have in common, it would be nice to know what their differences are.

The Z5 Pro's rivals sport flagship chips from HiSilicon and Qualcomm. In his case, all the processes are ruled by Snapdragon 710, which has more modest characteristics and 6 GB of "RAM". The built-in memory is limited to only two parameters - 64 GB and 128 GB. The memory card cannot be installed - there is no slot for it.

Everyone was expecting the slider from Lenovo to be equipped with the Snapdragon 845, but something didn't work out on the way to this processor. It is worth telling in more detail about its 710 version as the main device installed on almost all mid-range smartphones.

In its production, the norms of a 10-nanometer technological process are taken as a basis. It has a Cortex-A75 consisting of two cores doing complex computing and six Cortex-A55 cores. They solve simple problems, thus saving energy. The tandem with the Adreno 616 graphics accelerator is great. All processes have been honed to the standard.

Cameras

The new Lenovo has only one camera mounted on the rear panel. Traditionally, it has two sensors. We decided that the Sony IMX519 product would be best suited for this job in the first 16MP camera. The second was equipped with a Sony IMX576 sensor with a resolution of 24 megapixels.

Both lenses have an F / 1.8 aperture and a bright aperture. To improve the quality of night shots (or images taken in poor visibility), they provided a 4-in-1 pixel combining technology. This made it possible to increase the size of the dot, allowed more light to be captured, and improved detail in night photos while reducing digital noise.

The front panel also has a dual module - 16 and 8 megapixels. The second is infrared and plays a major role in recognizing the user's face.

What's interesting about Lenovo slider

We found out that the new product has a good processor and good cameras. However, the interesting technical facts about the product do not end there. Experts agree that it has functionality that can be considered a benchmark for the middle class. There is NFC, wires can be connected via Type-C, Bluetooth 5 and Wi-Fi 5 GHz are supported.

Front panel. The screen with 95% overlap of the front view immediately attracts attention. So said the representatives of the manufacturer. In reality, this percentage is slightly lower, but they consider it by their standards, allowing them to declare such data. The screen really looks original, its sides relate to each other as 19, 5: 9. Images on it look bright and colorful.

Retractable mechanism. The slider smartphone itself is surprising now. The retractable part of the device is equipped with a double chamber, which no one has tried to build before. In addition, the camera has an infrared sensor that helps unlock the user's face.

The presence of technology in the slider device is also progressive, allowing it to work for several years without repairing the mechanism. Up to 300 thousand work cycles are allowed.

Fingerprint scanner. You can safely classify this attribute as a flagship one. There are already similar sensors located on the front panel, but there are not many of them. This is the first time this is installed on a slider. We can say that it offers innovation at a reasonable price.

The Z5 Pro product will cost from $ 287 to $ 330. Its sales will begin on 11.11 2018.
