Samsung wants to merge the Galaxy S and Galaxy Note smartphone lines

Samsung is seriously working on a plan to merge its iconic Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series. The result will be a new line of smartphones with a leader - a larger-screen flagship, which according to some assumptions will be called the Galaxy S10.

Analysts see a number of positive aspects in the merger for the company itself. First of all, an increase in sales, since the new flagship model of the not very budget segment will be more in demand than the previous two separately. And this, in turn, will improve the position of the Korean brand in a competitive market, where there is an offer of cheaper analogues. Secondly, cost savings, since the developer will spend funds on the design and release of only one line.

It is assumed that in the case of a planned connection of two series of devices, it will be possible to avoid a situation where the sale of one line of smartphones negatively affects the sales of the other. This has already happened with the Note 8, which has been wary of the owners of the acquired Galaxy S8 +. Similar consumer behavior is expected for the announced Note 9 and S9 +.

Experts believe that Samsung has foreseen this, so the Korean manufacturer has set a low annual sales target for the new Samsung Note 9, which is expected to be presented in August. In the first three months (July-September) the company plans to release 7.5 million copies of the Note 9 model, and in the next three months to reduce this figure by 3 million. Thus, the manufacturer intends to adjust the production of its new items taking into account the initial sales.

In general, a logical chain can be traced between the unification of families and the information that appeared in the media that Samsung plans to create new Galaxy S10 and S10 + with a large screen. There is speculation that the large-screen version of the S10 + will receive a stylus in the kit, which acts as one of the main characteristics of the Note series from the S series.

Also the difference between the two product lines is the screen size, which is larger than the Note. However, the size of the Galaxy S9 + (6.22 inches) is close to the Galaxy Note 8 (6.3 inches), that is, the difference between them is insignificant.
