Yesterday's announcement from the Take-Two director that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be a breakout game is fine, but it would still be better to see the official gameplay of the game, or at least a selection of new facts about the upcoming Rockstar western ... And if the gameplay has not yet worked out, then about the selection of facts, thanks to the German gaming resource Gamestar, there is only positive news. In the new preview of Red Dead Redemption 2, Rockstar spoke more about the game's open world.
"Rock stars" are well aware that due to the abundance of open-world games, gamers can no longer be surprised by projects where you can freely explore hundreds of square kilometers. Red Dead Redemption 2 will take a different path and will impress not with its scale, but with the elaboration of the environment and the interactivity of the game world. Manic attention to even the smallest detail is the best description of how Rockstar is approaching the development of their new game.
Particular attention is paid to the development of secondary quests ... if they can now be called secondary. The thing is that RDR 2 wants to blur the lines between main and side missions. There will be no more primitive quests in the "give-and-bring" style, only directed and unique content. Of course, it will not do without third-party entertainment, such as mini-games and hunting, but even to the development of such game functions, Rockstar promises to come up with imagination.
The characters in the game will not be just dummies, created only to issue new quests to Arthur. Each of the Dutch gang members lives according to their own schedule in the world created by the "Rockstars". Often they will not even be able to be found in the camp, because they have enough of their own troubles and they definitely will not wait for weeks on end for the player to appear. It is also promised that each of Arthur's comrades in Red Dead Redemption 2 will be blessed with their own personality, which can be seen in hundreds of small and unique scenes. The closest analogy is GTA V, where Michael's family tried to imitate real life.
Third-party NPCs that inhabit the game world will also be characters with a well-developed character. For example, some people can be forced to give money just by frightening with a strong word, others will be happy to meet Arthur with a shot in the face from a gun, only when they see him a hundred steps away. There will be a third type of personality who will try to escape from the player and not enter into open confrontation. The reputation system that the game inherited from the first RDR is also important. A notorious criminal or universal hero will be greeted in different ways, which, moreover, will open up a number of new unique opportunities for the player.
Which ones are not specified, but it is known for sure that in Red Dead Redemption 2 each new region of the world will differ not only visually, but also in gameplay, offering different game mechanics. In this regard, Rockstar pursues the goal of creating the most realistic and believable world. Who knows, maybe we will have something similar at the Legend Breath of the Wild, where each location offered a different gameplay.
The random encounter system will return and will now be governed by the game's internal director. The system will determine the player's current progress, his ammunition and current location, based on which it will give the player unique situations.
Among other details, it is worth noting that Arthur will be able to push opponents through the door as in the second trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2, when committing crimes from the law enforcement officers, you can pay off or simply lie, impersonating another person, as well as the ability to set up a camp even on enemy territory, which will result in not the most pleasant surprises.
The release of the game is scheduled for October 26 this year. For even more details on Red Dead Redemption 2, check out our first look at Rockstar's new action movie.
