Rage 2 - Id Software promises that the game will fix all the flaws in the original

The original Rage is one of the most anticipated games of 2011. Still, finally, Id Software, which made themselves into history thanks to the founding of the FPS genre, released their new game for the first time in 8 years. Unfortunately, despite the excellent shooter mechanics, Rage disappointed many of its fans with a mediocre open world implementation and racing component. But that should change with the release of Rage 2, which, according to the studio's creative director, will fix all the mistakes of the original and take the series to the next level.

Tim Wilits, who is responsible for the gameplay of 2 parts of Rage, admitted that the game had interesting ideas. For example, megatexture technology, which became a new technological innovation of the legendary programmer John Carmack. Lots of interesting ideas like an open world, side quests and a racing component. But the main problem is that the whole game was divided into disparate components, looked too schematic and the world did not feel like a single whole.

In Rage 2, the developers want to work on the errors of the original, so that the whole game feels comprehensive. Now there is no division of the world into locations, there are no reloads and separate sections for car racing and shooting. You are free to act as you want, now the style of passing the game depends only on you.

Sounds good, so all fans of the original game, and just fans of open-world projects, should take note of Rage 2, which will be released early next year. Separately, we note that for all the shortcomings of Rage, we still consider it one of the main shooters of the last decade, which was described in our separate article.
