The Swagtron brand specializing in hoverboards and other electric devices for outdoor activities has released one of the elements of protective equipment - the smart Snowtide helmet for extreme sports, skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts.

The helmet is based on many useful and modern mechanisms. A novelty for skiers and snowboarders designed to protect against the effects of falls or impacts, it can independently transmit distress signals to call for medical assistance to its owner.

The device has a Bluetooth adapter, which makes it possible to make and receive calls, listen to music and radio. In addition, the Snowtide smart snowboard helmet is equipped with the PPT (push to talk) voice communication standard, that is, in fact, the protective equipment also performs the functions of a walkie-talkie. With the help of special programs for Android and iOS mobile systems, Snowtide owners can be in the same group and exchange voice messages.

The manufacturer has equipped its development with an intelligent SOS option, which is automatically activated upon a sharp impact or fall. The Snowtide safety helmet is capable of transmitting an alarm if required. If the equipment detects any dangerous impact, it will independently call for medical assistance indicating geographic coordinates.

The headset technology is largely the same as Apple's Watch 4 smartwatch. For example, in the event of a hit against the surface, smart equipment activates the mechanism for calling for help. If the owner of the device does not cancel the operation within a minute, the smart Snowtide helmet will make a call to the nearest medical facility, send messages to "emergency" contacts, which can be saved in the application in advance.

In addition to all the above functions, the smart-helmet monitors the speed mode, the slope of the track, records the distance and travel time. All this data is stored in the application statistics. The outer casing has a rather rigid structure, and the presence of a ventilation system (which independently determines the temperature) is able to form a comfortable microclimate inside the device.
