Composer Vladimir Shainsky passed away
On December 26, after a long illness, the famous Soviet and USA composer Vladimir Shainsky died. The maestro was in his 93rd year. Vladimir Shainsky was born in Kiev in 1925. He began his studies at the music school at the Kiev Conservatory, and after the outbreak of the Great Patriotic War he continued his studies in evacuation at the Tashkent Conservatory. After the end of the war, he began working in the famous USSR orchestra of Leonid Utyosov. In the early 60s he graduated from the composition department of the Baku Conservatory. Vladimir Shainsky is the author of melodies for many popular Soviet movies and cartoons.
