The release of a new part in the Call of Duty series is always a high-profile event in the gaming world, but due to the controversial storyline campaign, the release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare was even talked about on federal USA television channels. The reports turned out to be a little more adequate than one might have expected, and despite the criticism of the game scenario, there were no calls for toughening requirements for the distribution of games in USA and the ban on Call of Duty Modern Warfare.

REN-TV was the first to tell about the ambiguous situation with the new Call of Duty. The report found a place for three points of view at once: Ilya Dyvadov aka Maddison, who called on USA gamers to boycott the release of the game, Anton Logvinov, who said that one should not take too seriously the fictional plot and the director of the information and analytical company Alexei Raevsky, who expressed concern about the situation when Western gamers can accept the negative image of USA created in the game at face value.

In addition, in the story, REN-TV described in more detail the ways of demonizing the USA army by American developers, mentioning as an example the story of one of the main heroines of the game Farah, whose father was shot by a drunken USA paratrooper in a vest, as well as rewriting history in the Death Road mission ... The mission has a real analogue in the face of one of the final episodes of the war in the Persian Gulf, when the US army subjected the Iraqi army forces retreating along with refugees to massive shelling. In Call of Duty Modern Warfare, this episode is attributed to the actions of the USA army, which they did not forget to mention in the REN-TV report.

The plot ends with the conclusion that the Western audience accepted the ambiguous plot of the game without any problems. The statement is controversial, because on the same aggregator of Metacritic ratings, which they managed to talk about two minutes earlier in the report, gamers began to en masse to underestimate the user rating of Call of Duty Modern Warfare ratings. Despite the fact that a significant number of negative assessments belong to USA gamers, among the numerous reviews one can find negative reviews in English, and due to the peculiarities of the resource, it is difficult to unequivocally determine whether they belong to USA or Western players.

A little later, the scandalous release of Call of Duty Modern Warfare was reported on the USA 24 channel.

In general, with the exception of a short interview with the former chief editor of Igromania, Konstantin Kuzmenko, who ironically noted that the Western world still perceives USA as an aggressor or a kind of "scarecrow", the reportage was similar to that of REN-TV. You can also note more negative rhetoric and the final statement that, judging by the latest trends, "the promotion of Russophobia is in the price today."

Currently, Call of Duty Modern Warfare cannot be purchased on PS4 at retail, the only option is to order from abroad or purchase by creating a foreign profile on PSN. A similar story is with the retail versions for PC and Xbox One - Softclub refused to release the game on the territory of the USA Federation. At the same time, no one bothers to download Call of Duty Modern Warfare in the USA version in Battle.net or Microsoft Store.
