Narrative in AC Valhalla and genitals in Cyberpunk 2077 - game news digest # 1.05. Part two

Also in the news: an updated Mass Effect trilogy, a video from the canceled Prince of Persia, a new trailer for The Last of Us Part 2, an improvement in EA games on new consoles.

Developers: Assassin's Creed Valhalla has a unique storyline

The plot in the next Assassin's Creed Valhalla revolves around your settlement, where most of the quests will begin and take place. Ubisoft Narrative Director Darby McDevitt told GameStop that the game's storyline will have a unique structure.

He even said that it is so unique that it probably never happened in games. As in principle, the plot will be the main advantage of the project.

Valhalla will not only continue the story after Origins and Odyssey, but will also unite the entire series. According to McDevitt, it will take us years to find all the connections between the parts of the series.

We were also shown the gameplay of the game. Let's talk about its content separately.

In Cyberpunk 2077, you can choose any combination of genitals for your character

According to the classics, ESRB has already issued Cyberpunk 2077 rating and this, as you might guess, is M [for adults over 17 years old]. What is interesting, however, is why the game got it. This is what we are talking about in the list of scenes for which the game received a similar rating.

Here are the highlights:

  • By customizing the main character, you can customize his breasts, genitals, buttocks, and also select different combinations for him regardless of gender.
  • In one quest, we have to pierce the character's limbs with nails.
  • The game features first-person sex scenes with both sex workers and story characters.
  • In certain locations, we can meet disfigured human bodies with open chests.
  • People using drugs are often shown in the game, and there are even speed ads in the game world.
  • The game allows you to drive drunk.

Let us remind you that on June 11 we will be shown new gameplay.

A video from the canceled Prince of Persia has been online for 8 years

Quite by accident, a video of the canceled Prince of Persia game was found on the network. He hid from our prying eyes in the depths of YouTube for 8 years. It surfaced today.

The game is called Prince of Persia Redemption and was apparently a reboot of the sands of time trilogy. It has all the favorite features of the trilogy: acrobatics, battles and rewind time.

The demo itself is replete with an abundance of action and explosions. In its content, it resembles not only the old parts of the game, but also the level of cinematography of Uncharted.

Perhaps most importantly, this is most likely a real video. In the comments below the video, one of the Ubisoft employees, Marc-Andre Bello, was lit up, who wrote "Where did you find this?" Even more, people with ResetEra found mentions of this game on: LinkedIn. The game was supposed to be released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360.

The video was also commented on by former Ubisoft animator Jonathan Cooper. He said that this video is a pre-renderer, that is, not real gameplay, but a demonstration of what the creators would like to achieve in the final result, when the development would be in the final stages. The video also inspired the people who later worked on Assassin's Creed 3.

According to Cooper, Ubisoft is more willing to freeze the prince series than its other projects, because the rights to the prince still belong to its creator Jordan Mahner, with whom they have to share the proceeds.

HD remaster of the Mass Effect trilogy awaits in the future

From EA's quarterly report, it became clear that EA is going to release 14 games, among which there is a line of EA HD, which mentions a certain unknown project. And so Jeff Grubb, news editor of VentureBeat said that this is not just a re-release of one game, but a remaster of the entire Mass Effect trilogy.

He also confirmed that remasters of the three games may even come to Switch, albeit belatedly.

The company's January report mentions four games from "EA's broad portfolio," and that the company is re-releasing games that are fan favorites. It can be assumed that these four games include the Mass Effect trilogy, as well as Command & Conquer.

Most likely, we will find out about them at EA Play 2020, which will be held on the night of June 11-12.

EA games can be upgraded for free on next gen consoles

EA also shared the news that their games that came out on the current generation of consoles can be pumped for free in the future on PS5 and XSX. Blake Jorgensen, COO of the publishing house, said this in a report to investors. What is meant by this - he did not specify, since it can be either backward compatibility, declared on both consoles, or a special EA program.

Also, XSX has a special "smart delivery" feature. It matches your game based on your hardware device. And who knows, maybe Sony will also implement a similar feature in the PS5.

New trailer for The Last of Us Part 2 released

Amid the recent news that The Last of Us Part 2 has gone gold, Naughty Dog has released a new trailer for their highly anticipated game.

As a reminder, it will appear on PS4 on June 19th.
