Last Easter Egg Revealed In Doom 2 Only 24 Years Later
Doom 2 has many secrets besides one that have been unraveled. The Industrial Zone level has a secret zone that was discovered a long time ago, but could not get there without using cheats. Players assumed that this was a bug because the discovery of a secret is counted if 2 conditions are met: the main character must penetrate the zone and be on the same level with it. The problem was in the second point, as users could not step on the floor due to the leveling structure. The community believed that it was 100% impossible to pass the level in an honest way. Recently, a gamer with the nickname Zero Master learned how to get into a secret zone without cheats. The pain elemental must approach the Easter egg and respawn the lost soul over the main character when the door is lowered on his head. After that, the player falls to the floor of the zone and the secret is counted. Thus, Zero Master is the first gamer in the world to complete the game 100%. The Monster Condo level had a similar Easter egg that was considered buggy, but Zero Master revealed it in 2016. One of the main developers of this game, John Romero, congratulated the gamer and confirmed that the riddle was only now solved.
