New Line took on the ”Man from Nowhere”
Yesterday we reported that Paramount went to Israel for ideas, deciding to shoot an English-language remake of the drama "Bethlehem", and today the studio New Line Cinema has continued this trend. As it became known to the site Deadline , the major acquired the rights to create a new version of the South Korean action movie " Man from Nowhere ".The filming of the original was directed by Lee Jong-bong.The film is about a humble pawnshop owner with a dark and violent past. His only friend now is a girl who lives next door. To save the child from the bandits who took the girl and her unlucky mother hostage, the main character will have to plunge headlong into the world of drug trafficking and organ trafficking ... The film premiered in 2010 in South Korea. Lee Jong-boma stayed at the top of the home box office for five weeks and became the highest grossing Korean film of that year.  Initially, the Dimension Films company was going to do the remake, but the project never got off the ground. The rights returned to CJ Entertainment , which resold them to New Line .
