Just yesterday we reported that the director Eli Roth will be rebooting the Death Wish franchise, and today it became known about another new project of the filmmaker. It will be a horror movie called Aleister Arcane ( "Alistair Arcane" ), in which Jim Carrey got the main role. The actor will also serve as an executive producer, writes the news site Variety .The new film will be based on the comic strip of the same name by Steve Nils, released in 2004. At the same time, Paramount studio acquired the rights to film the graphic novel, but the project was never brought to its logical conclusion. Steven Spielberg's company Amblin Entertainment is currently working on the film. In the story, a group of children meets an elderly man whose life was ruined by their parents. Before dying, the hero sends a curse on the city, which can only be removed by his little friends. In the original source, the central character was the TV host of the horror program Alistair Arcane from Jackson, Oklahoma, who was fired from his job at the request of the local community, which was the reason for revenge.  Among the most recent works by Jim Carrey are "Dumb and Dumber 2", "TV Presenter: Hello Again" and "Kick-Ass 2", and two more films with the actor's participation await premieres - a crime thriller "Real Crime" and the melodrama "Bad Party".
