The Witcher began to gather a squad
In May this year, Polish studio Platige Image presented a delightful gift to a multi-million army of fantasy fans, deciding to join forces with streaming giant Netflix to create a series based on the popular book series The Witcher Saga.As it became known to Variety, serious progress has been made in the work on the ambitious project. The executives of Platige Image and Netflix have decided to entrust Lauren Schmidt as showrunner for The Witcher. The American woman began her television career as a member of the author group for the series The West Wing. Working on this famous NBC political drama earned her two Writers Guild Awards nominations. Lauren already has experience working with the online service Netflix. She first wrote and produced the second season of the superhero action movie Daredevil, and then received an invitation to work on the telecomic The Defenders.  Apparently, Platige Image and Netflix will soon be ready to start looking for writers, directors and stars of the series. Earlier it became known that at least one episode of the fantasy drama will be filmed by the Pole Tomek Baginski, who created excellent introductory videos to three computer games about the adventures of Geralt of Rivia.
