Image The superhero regiment has arrived. According to sources from The Hollywood Reporter , New Line Cinema is set to shoot a superhero crime thriller called Pulse . The upcoming project will be produced by Sean Levy (Night at the Museum, Real Steel) and Dan Cohen (Arrival) with their company 21 Laps Entertainment . The film will be scripted by Jesse Nixon-Lopez, with whom Levi and Cohen worked on the mystery series "Mysterious Events" on the Netflix channel.

The film will be based on the novel of the same name by the writer Michael Harvey, just preparing to appear on the shelves of bookstores. The story combines detective plot and science fiction, and tells the story of the origin and maturation of a superhero. The main character is a teenager, who, in parallel with the police, is investigating the murder of his older brother. At the same time, with the help of a mysterious mentor, the young man begins to develop a unique ability that helps him to find out the truth, and at the same time to protect himself from the dangers lurking on the way.


Michael Harvey is an American journalist and author of several detective novels, the most recent of which, Brighton , came out this year. The rights to film it have already been acquired by Oscar award-winner, producer Graham King (The Departed, World War Z).

Jesse Nixon-Lopez has scripted both seasons of Mysterious Events , which return to the small screens in October. In addition, the girl is now engaged in another television show, the crime drama "Barygi". Pulse will be Nixon-Lopez's first full-length feature film.
