The company of the renowned director, screenwriter and producer Luc Besson is preparing a surprise for fans of tough and uncompromising thrillers. Variety reports that the French studio EuropaCorp will join forces with the Japanese All Nippon Entertainment Works and the American Depth of Field in work on the English-language remake of Takashi Miike's film " Straw Shield ".The original film was based on the novel of the same name by Japanese writer Kazuhiro Kiuchi. The action-packed thriller hit the box office in the Land of the Rising Sun and took part in the battle for the " Palme d'Or " at the 66th annual Cannes Film Festival . Miike centered on a man named Kunihide Kiomaru , whom the police regarded as the prime suspect in the murder of the politician Ninagawa 's granddaughter. Tired of waiting for the results of an official investigation, the influential diplomat takes justice into his own hands. Ninagawa decides to publicly announce its readiness to pay a billion yen for the head of a criminal. Kunihida has no choice but to voluntarily surrender to the Fukuoka City Police Department.
