Wiig and Ferrell are preparing a musical about musicals
The season of various awards in the field of cinema has just begun, and Damien Chazelle's musical "La La Land" has already won the status of one of the main contenders for the prestigious awards. And it seems that Hollywood producers have again begun to take an active interest in musical films.According to the site Deadline , actors Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig are starting work on a joint musical based on the non-fiction book Everything's Coming Up Profits: The Golden Age Of Industrial Musicals . Mark Shayman (Hairspray) and Scott Whitman (Success / Smash ) will be responsible for the musical accompaniment of the film, and the script will be written by Stephen Levenson (Wayward Pines / Wayward Pines ). The book by Steve Young and Michael S. Murphy chronicles how large American companies have made it a habit to bring in Broadway talent to stage plays that educate and motivate employees. The theme itself is quite humorous, as in these productions, promising actors had to play various inanimate objects and enthusiastically enjoy new baths, microwaves or the fact that they sold a batch of tires.
