As reported by the information portal ScreenDaily , Dancing Ledge Productions with the support of FremantleMedia and the star of the detective series "Sherlock" Martin Freeman are developing a project that could become the first ever television adaptation of an epic poem by English poet John Milton Paradise Lost .FremantleMedia and Dancing Ledge CEO Lawrence Bowen (The Eichmann Show) are currently discussing the idea with UK and US scriptwriters and broadcasters. Freeman has been assigned to the project as executive producer, but it is not yet known whether he will appear on screen. The visual effects of the future series will be handled by Framestore , who have worked on several films in the Harry Potter franchise, the fantasy film Gravity and the adventures of Star-Lord. The work deals with the biblical story of the fall of man - the temptation of Adam and Eve by the fallen angel and their expulsion from the Garden of Eden. The first version of the text consisted of ten books that inspired many artists from William Blake to Salvador Dali. The creators of various film and television projects also did not stay away from Paradise Lost . So, for example, in the third season of the series "Agents of SHIELD" one of the episodes was not only named after the poem, but also replete with references to it. And in 1997, the poem served as inspiration for director Taylor Hackford, who shot his film "The Devil's Advocate" with Al Pacino and Keanu Reeves in the lead roles. The iconic work found a response in literature, in the works of such writers as Philip Pullman and Neil Gaiman.  The series is currently in its very early stages of development.
