Screenwriter for The Nutcracker by Robert Zemeckis
While working on the fantastic drama Beowulf, director Robert Zemeckis promised that all his new films will use motion capture and 3D technology. By that time, the filmmaker had already managed to find an application for the third dimension in the musical fantasy "The Polar Express", and two years later, "A Christmas Story" saw the light, which used both techniques. After the premiere of the tape with Jim Carrey, it became known that the director and studio Universal had already planned another project - The Nutcracker .Today the movie portal The Tracking Board announces an important step in the work on the tape - the future production has found a scriptwriter. It was Evan Spiliotopoulos , who worked on the projects "Fairies: The Lost Treasure", "Hercules", "Snow White and the Huntsman 2". Next March, Beauty and the Beast will be released, scripted by Evan co-writing with Stephen Chbosky. Spiliotopoulos is also known to be working on a relaunch of Charlie's Angels .  It is reported that the new adaptation of " The Nutcracker " will be based not on the libretto of the famous ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, but on the original fairy tale by Ernst Theodor Amadeus Hoffmann " The Nutcracker and the Mouse King ", published in 1816 year. Despite this, the action of the tape will still take place not in Germany, but in the USA Empire.  Robert Zemeckis , who is still listed as only the producer of the project, can also take on the director's functions.
