While the charming well-mannered bear Paddington is preparing to conquer the hearts of USA filmmakers by continuing his story, the film crew took on the adaptation of Enid Blyton's book Magic Faraway Tree, one of the four novels in The Faraway Tree series.|
Rumors of a film adaptation appeared back in 2014, when Sam Mendes and Pippa Harris were interested in financing the project. As it became known to Variety, now the European film company StudioCanal intends to take up the production, and the script will be written by the creator of the adventures of the second "Paddington" Simon Farnaby.
The picture will be the first screen version of the novel that Blyton wrote back in 1943. The action of each book in the series takes place in an enchanted forest where a special tree grows: so tall that it can touch the clouds, and for someone it can become a whole house. The story begins when the little main characters find him.
Farnaby admitted that he considers Blyton's work a real extravaganza of imagination with magical characters, humor and adventure. The start date of work on the project has not yet been announced.
