Ron Howard on Working Class Issues

Image After Inferno, full of puzzles, chases and conspiracy theories, Ron Howard is ready to switch to something a little more relaxed. Despite a number of projects awaiting his attention, the filmmaker will take on the adaptation of the memoirs of JD Vance Hillbilly Elegy ( "Country Elegy" ). The website Variety reports about it.

Howard and Imagine Entertainment partner Brian Grazer (In the Heart of the Sea) won the rights to the bestseller in the competition.

In his book, Vance told about how he grew up in the so-called Rust Belt , where until the 70s heavy industry enterprises were concentrated, and about the hardships of life of the workers there, who faced social and economic problems. Through hard work and faith in education, Vance first entered the Marine Corps, and after serving in Iraq, he completed his studies at Ohio State University and Yale Law School. Currently JD is a political commentator for CNN .
