Jeff Nichols will revive Alien Nation
Last spring, we reported that 20th Century Fox has decided to re-shoot the sci-fi movie Alien Nation . Deadline managed to find out that the management of the film company has finally decided on the name of the steering project. Jeff Nichols ("Mad") will lead the work on the remake of the iconic 1988 film.The original Graham Baker film was set in the not too distant future, when people were forced to coexist with representatives of an alien race. The protagonists of the story are a veteran of the Los Angeles police Matthew Sykes (James Caan) and the first alien detective in the history of Earth named Sam Francisco (Mandy Patinkin). Thanks to the box office success of Baker , Alien Nation has quickly grown into a massive media franchise that includes TV series, TV films and graphic novels.  The start date for filming the remake has not yet been announced, since first Nichols will have to edit the script by Arthur Markam and Matt Holloway ("Iron Man"). Brian Cavanagh-Jones and Sarah Greene, who know Jeff from the biographical drama Loving, which competed for the main prize of the Cannes Film Festival this May, will take over the production functions. ...
