It would seem that after the financial failure of the Ghostbusters, other planned female reboots, sequels and spin-offs will be postponed until better times. However, in the wake of the multimillion-dollar losses of Sony Pictures , Warner Bros. has given the green light to the all-female sequel to Ocean's Eleven franchise. The film " Ocean's Eight " in August managed to find four performers of the main roles and thus fully completed the main cast. Sandra Bullock was entrusted with this role. Cate Blanchett, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, Sarah Paulson, Rihanna, Mindy Cailing and Aquafina will take part in the film. The tape will revolve around the theft, which the accomplices will try to crank at one of the fashion shows in New York.  The new part " Hunters " failed to give a second wind to the mega-successful franchise, and it is unlikely that Sony will undertake to shoot the continuation of the reboot. According to analysts, the total losses of the tape may reach $ 70 million . Unjustified financial expectations could largely be associated with the tape's impressive production budget, the lion's share of which was spent on special effects. As the name implies, the film could not do without them. According to insiders, jewelry hunters, unlike lovers of the paranormal, will need only $ 70 million - almost $ 80 million less than the women's team of fighters against evil spirits.  An important difference is that " Ocean's Friends " boast much more famous female leading roles. From the acting quartet of hunters, only Melissa McCarthy, an Oscar nominee, could guarantee a solid box office. Kristen Wiig, who starred with her in the film "Bachelorette in Vegas", is not yet very popular with viewers, and it is completely new to the audience to see Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon in full-length films. It should be noted that the attractiveness of McCarthy outside the United States is still questionable.  In contrast, Ocean's friends have four Academy Awards and nine prestigious statuette nominations combined. In addition, most actresses have recently appeared in films that have had financial success both at home and abroad. For Bullock this is the mega hit Gravity, Blanchett had Cinderella, Hathaway is well remembered by the audience from Interstellar, and Bonham Carter - based on movies about Alice.  And, of course, one cannot fail to notice that the studio's policy regarding their new project will be important. Five years ago, Warner Bros. released the second part of The Deathly Hallows and has been looking for a new super-profitable franchise ever since. It could have become, but has not yet become, the expanded cinematic universe DC . Now, the new production work of Soderbergh has such a chance, which will try to stand on a par with the first three films in the series, the total gross of which amounted to more than $ 1 billion .
