The 2018 Emmy Changes Are Coming
Fans of the world of television still continue to discuss the main surprises, incidents and twists and turns of the 2017 Emmy, and the American Television Academy has already begun planning the work of the 70th anniversary ceremony of the world's main television award.The academicians announced the date of the solemn event, and also made changes to a number of nominations. The main interest for TV series fans is the innovations in the field of determining the winners in some technical categories. Thus, the nomination for Best Costume Design in a Fantasy or Historical Series, Mini-Series or TV Movie will be divided into two different categories. From now on, costume designers of historical dramas will be able to receive one award, and clothing designers for science fiction and fantasy series will receive another.  The Best Series Sound Editing category will also be split in two. The TV academics decided that it would be appropriate to present two separate prizes for half-hour and one-hour serials. These innovations of the American Television Academy will be available next fall at the two-day Creative Arts Emmys Awards. As for the draw for the main categories, it will take place on September 17 at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The name of the host of the 70th Primetime Emmy Awards is still kept secret.
