New Scream launched
Spyglass Media Group and Paramount Pictures are launching yet another scream horror movie. This is reported by Variety with reference to its sources. The directors are Matthew Bettinelli and Tyler Gillett, creators of the 2019 movie I'm Going To Seek. David Arquette is expected to take on the role of Deputy Sheriff Dewey once again. Whether anyone else from the original cast will join him remains to be seen. Filming is slated to begin in late summer 2020 with an eye on the premiere in mid-2021. Paramount will be responsible for worldwide distribution of the movie and will present it on digital platforms in selected countries, Spyglass will hold the rights to screenings on pay TV channels in North America. As a reminder, director Wes Craven, released the first part of "The Scream" in 1996. The project was hugely successful at the box office, grossing over $ 170 million on a budget of $ 14 million, and has become somewhat of a cult following due to the original villain mask.
