Six months ago, we reported that New Line Cinema has begun work on the adaptation of the comic " The Kitchen " ( The Kitchen ). At the same time it became known that the adaptation of the popular graphic novel by the publishing house Vertigo would be taken up by Andrea Berloff .According to The Hollywood Reporter , Berloff 's script impressed the bosses of the film company so much that they decided to entrust her with the director's chair for the film. Andrea film adaptation of " Kitchen " will debut as a director. The comic strip is set in the 70s of the last century in the Hell's Kitchen district of New York. When the FBI sends several Irish mafia bosses to jail, the management of the criminal empire falls on the fragile shoulders of their spouses. It soon turns out that the fair sex is ready to do business much more efficiently than their husbands ...  Berloff has long and successfully cooperated with the studio New Line . At the start of her career, she worked as an assistant to its founder, Robert Shay, and then, as a screenwriter, she was invited to take part in the creation of the film "Voice of the Streets". Subsequently, the project passed to Universal , which decided to keep Berloff in the biographical drama team. As a result, work on " Voice of the Streets " earned the screenwriter her first nomination for the " Oscar " award.  Currently Berloff is also working on the script for the fantasy film "King Conan".
