Resident Evil will get a restart

However, fans of the zombie story can see the adventures of Alice once again.One of the largest German film companies Constantin Film , which owns the rights to the franchise and released all its parts, is currently developing a reboot of the popular film series. This information was confirmed to Variety by the chairman of the board of the company Martin Moszkovich at the current Cannes Film Festival . Information about who will get the main role, who will take the director's chair and how the reboot will fit into the original action series is currently kept secret.  The final film in the franchise was Resident Evil: The Final Chapter , which was released earlier this year and grossed $ 312 million worldwide. Of these, an impressive amount, $ 160 million , was brought to the picture by the Chinese audience. The success was facilitated by the company Sony , which provided the release in China of the third and fourth films about the adventures of a fearless zombie slayer. The first part of the series, based on the video game of the same name by the Japanese company Capcom , appeared on big screens back in 2002. It was directed by Paul W.S. Anderson, who, along with Jeremy Bolt, Bernd Aikinger and Samuel Hadid, also produced the tape. In total, the Resident Evil franchise has grossed $ 1.2 billion to date, making it the most successful independent horror movie in history, as well as the highest-grossing video game adaptation.  The image of the main character in all six films of the franchise was embodied by the actress Milla Jovovich . Anderson , in turn, wrote the scripts for all parts and directed four of them. However, his participation in the reboot is questionable, as he is currently preparing a picture of Monster Hunter.
